Hello everyone! And welcome back to The Venue House! The DIY I'm sharing today, I love for so many reasons. First, it is very easy to make. Second, most of the supplies you probably already have at home. Third, once you're done you have such a cute piece of decor! I've made two so far, one for me and one I'm going to give to my nephew. These can be customized every which way (especially if you make your own frame using my DIY Frames For Cheap blog post). So what are you waiting for? You're going to want to make this DIY ASAP!
Supplies:
Frame - I used the frame from my DIY Frames For Cheap post, if you want to DIY your own frame for cheap click the link.
Poster-board - cut to the size needed for your frame
Adhesive letters
Staple gun
Red pen
Blue Pen
Ruler
Step 1:
I wanted my background to look like a large piece of ruled paper. To do this I took my poster-board and my red pen and drew a line on the left hand side from the top of the poster-board to the bottom, about an inch away from the edge on the left. If you dont want to do this for your background, just skip ahead to step 3.
Step 2
Now for the blue lines! Grab your blue pen and start from the bottom of the page. Use the ruler to space your lines evenly and insure they're straight. Do this all the way from the bottom of the page to the top.
Step 3
Once you're done with your background, staple your poster-board to your frame. If you dont have a staple gun I'm sure hot glue or another kind of glue would work fine, just make sure to give it time to dry.
Step 4
Now you're ready to add your letters. I like to lay mine out and make sure the spacing is right before peeling off the backing and stick them to the poster-board. Once you're ready, stick em down! Don't worry if you're letters dont look perfect, I think having the letters a little askew adds to the playfulness of this sign.
Voila! You're all done! Now go and make one for your MAMA!
